🍳The Mothership gave me a pan for pancakes, but I have discovered that it makes an excellent omelette. 😳Himself LOATHES an egg of any description, so he’s found the last week tough going, as I’m flat out with my new pan & experimenting with different fillings. Cheese & spinach is my favourite, but sure you could fire most things in an omelette and it’s delicious. I’m like Gwen out of ‘Gavin & Stacey’. 😆We’re also tightening the purse strings after the holidays, so it’s all about #shelftember & raiding the fridge for ingredients. He usually just goes for a bacon sandwich, which isn’t very healthy now, is it? Have you any money saving tips for September? 👛

Annual ‘Bought a play suit in a #charityshop & now I’m wearing it on holiday’ pic. Picked up in @oxfamireland on #ormeauroad -£3 reduced from £6, originally from Oasis ( shop obvs, not the band my husband won’t stop banging on about since he saw them in Manchester last month.) It’s a lovely outfit but not for cycling in 30 degree heat. Also a bugger when you need the loo in a hurry but can’t negotiate the zip since you did a 4 minute plank & immobilised your right shoulder in the process. Top- 9/10 Life choices- 3.5.

But if you want to find yourself overcome with emotion beside randomers slapping on the Factor 50, then knock yourselves out. It’s bleak in parts, devastating in others, with a good dollop of existential angst thrown in just for kicks. Celebrating 300 parkruns @ormeau_parkrun today! Delighted- that’s 1500km, and mostly around Ormeau, although have ticked some others off in Galway, Dublin, & Edinburgh. 🤩 I remember trying to find one in Copenhagen and cycling aimlessly around a park, utterly drenched ☔️. It wasn’t to be but at least I had some form of exercise on my fruitless search! I am not a ‘sticker-at-er’- I have zero powers of tenacity & usually start things with tremendous exuberance (see employment history, sports, interests…) but I started parkrun when the girls were teeny tiny & it just worked. I think the coffee after was a huge draw, but there is much to be said for our wonderful community at Ormeau. 🥰 Off to start sorting 645 tokens with the long/suffering @steveygarland now.

Great community event yesterday at #eastsideartsfestival in #Belfast. @steveygarland, @georgina_garland2011 & Tasha all competed & delighted to see Georgina take third place over all. What a champ! Tasha, not to be outdone, ensured she came in well ahead of her auld da. @officialcoolfm provided the soundtrack & a carnivalesque atmosphere prevailed 🎉🥳👏

I know there are so many ghastly things in the news right now, & everything feels like a call to action. However, Trump cannot be allowed to further diminish women’s rights. I’ve emailed my MP to ask if he can apply pressure to ensure that women’s reproductive rights are protected. I urge you to do the same- you can find details on Theyworkforyou.com.
